Welcome to Pocket Tabs. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Progressive Web App (PWA) and our companion browser extension (collectively, the "Service").

Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways to provide and improve our Service:

• Account Information: When you sign in with your Google account, we use Firebase Authentication. We receive your basic profile information as provided by Google (such as your name and email address) to create and identify your Pocket Tabs account. We do not receive or store your Google password.
• User-Generated Content (PWA): We store the links (URLs), titles, descriptions, tags, and groups that you explicitly save to the Service. This data is stored in our Firebase Firestore database and is directly associated with your user account to enable cloud synchronization across your devices.
• Browser Extension Data: The browser extension is designed with your privacy as a priority. It only accesses the URL and title of your **active browser tab** and **only when you click the extension icon**. This action is user-initiated. The extension does not track your browsing history or access data from any other tabs.
• AI Feature Data: When you use the "Suggest Tags" feature, the URL, title, and description of the link are sent to Google's Generative AI models to generate relevant tags. This data is used solely for providing the feature and is processed according to Google's AI privacy policies.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
• Authenticate your account and synchronize your saved links and groups across your devices.
• Enable the core functionality of the browser extension, which passes the active tab's URL and title to the PWA.
• Power our AI features, such as tag suggestions for your links.
• Allow you to export your data to a text file.
• Communicate with you, if necessary, regarding your account or important service updates.

Data Storage and Security

Your data (links, tags, groups, etc.) is stored securely in Google's Firebase Firestore database, a product we trust for its robust security measures. We implement Firestore Security Rules that restrict data access, ensuring that you can only read and write your own information when authenticated.

Third-Party Services

Our Service relies on the following third-party services:

• Firebase (by Google): We use Firebase for authentication (Google Sign-In) and our Firestore database. Your use of our Service is therefore also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
• Genkit / Google Generative AI: Our AI-powered tag suggestions are provided by Google's Generative AI models. The link content sent for analysis is governed by Google's privacy terms for their AI services.

Your Rights and Data Control

You have full control over your data. You can access, edit, and delete individual links or entire groups directly within the application at any time. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, please contact us through our support channels. You can also use the "Export" feature to download a copy of all your saved link URLs.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
